Seed4Forest is a mapping application which shows the vulnerability of European tree species in
future climate and recommends optimum seed sources for reforestation and afforestation.
The inputs for the application are maps of species vulnerability (species distribution models)
and intraspecific universal response models based on range-wide provenance trial data.

Compare Suitabilities
Select a tree species based on its suitability for a climate change scenario of interest.
Suitability values range from 0 to 1000,
where low values depict a low propability of occurrence.
The colored rings represent thresholds specific for each tree species. The color green represents a 'good'
suitability, yellow a 'neutral' suitability and red an unsufficient suitability.

RCP 4.5 describes a scenario with reduced greenhouse gas emissions that may
result in a temperature increase of 1.5-3°C in Europe by the end of the 21st century.
RCP 8.5
RCP 8.5 describes a scenario with increasing greenhouse gas emissions
that may result in a temperature increase of 3-5°C in Europe by the end of the 21st century.
